Places to visit in Pondicherry

With too much of research and experience on my recent trip to Pondi hoping that I would provide the best itennary to Pondicerry.

Once you reach the hotel just checkout with your hotel staff to hire a 2 wheeler( max 350 rs to 400 per day) and enjoy the all places. The roads of Pondicherry is neat and huge with hardly any traffic and pollution, so no need of scarfs and helmet(no traffic police stops or no one cares to wear a helmet here). Do apply lot of sunscreen to your face, hands and legs before u get out of hotel to protect urself from getting tanned. Looks like too many precautions 😬yeah yeah no more now

Here is the list of places to visit in Pondi

Paradise Beach: Of all the beaches in Pondi the bestest/ worthiest/ private beach is Paradise beach. The most neat and clean beach with clear sand and huge waves. This beach has adventure sports like Kayaking, Aqua Park, Skiing, Donut ride, Zorbi Roller, Bull ride, trampoline and Sanduens bike. In order to keep this beach lively there's a rain dance section, food courts, Fat Fish restaurant, A restro bar with loud music(playing songs in English, Telugu, Hindi and Tamil)

Timings: Start around 9 am as it almost takes 45mins to reach from Pondi city. It takes a whole day until u try the above all activities. Closing time is 9pm. Make sure to stay in the evening hours as well to enjoy the night beach view and also carry swimsuits and pair of clothes

Chunnambar Beach: This beach is 5km before u reach Paradise beach and has some adventure sports. The funda is either u go to Chunnambar beach and take a ferry ride to Paradise beach or directly visit Paradise beach. Keep in mind the paradise beach and its adventure sports are not allowed for the people coming through Chunnambar beach. I suggest you to directly go to paradise beach and enjoy it.

Pondy Ocean Park: Just before you reach Chunnambar beach you can find POP with all water sports, kids can enjoy this place and also there's a ferry to Paradise beach from here

Arikamedu: Archeological site with different sculptures and the remains of Roman times can be found. Full of greenary and isolated area. This location comes along the way to Paradise beach.

Promande and Rock Beach: I wouldn't specify these 2 beaches separately cos these are adjacent to each other and walkable distance. Starting from Promande beach until Rock beach its a 1.5km beautiful Walk By the Beach(just like it sounds By the bay and By the bottle pubs in hyd🤣). Along the beach you can find Light House(under construction),   few restaurants, lounges, stalls(selling Hats and decor items). You can also find Pondicherry Museum, Churches and Bharat Park behind the main beach road

Timings: Make sure you come during the early morning hours to experience the Sunrise view and night time you can feel the waves roaring. Do spend some pleasant peace time along the beach

French colony or White Town: This is the colony behind the Preomande and Rock beach road. Every house within every lane in this colony is eye catchy coloured in Shades of Yellow, Orange, Blue etc etc and beautiful door designs and street lamps. Also, checkout each and every name plate of the house to know if thats a restaurant or a cafe or hotel. as you wouldn't find big hoardings to recognise the place. Its a best place for Photography my photos below says it all☺️.

Timings: For photo session, make sure you visit for few hours during last day before you leave Pondi

Aurville: Aurville is a township consiting of Aurville beach, Sri Arubindo Ashram and Matrimandir. Almost 4 to 5kms from city center. In aurville beach you find boats parked at the beach and some designed rocks to sit and have some good time. However playing in this beach is not suggestable as you can find lots of broken glass bottles and you might hurt your feet and also the water doesn't look neat. Sri Arubindo Ashram and Matrimandir: Place of peace and tranquil. You need to book before hand to visit this place.

url: visit.auroville.org

Timings: Mon to Sat from 9am to 4.30 pm and Sunday from 9 am to 1.00 pm

Shopping: MG Rod is a shopping hub with just shops n shops n shops towards ur left and right. Yeah I did not shop anything here 😛 cos I just cam to enjoy and not waste my time shopping

Arulmigu Manakula Vinayagar Devasthanam:  In one of the lanes in whitetown you can find this temple, it's a huge temple. On the footpath near the temple there are many shops selling décor items, shells, beads etc etc.
